Description
Extra Hidden Life, Among the Days, the latest book of poetry by Saint Mary’s Olivia Filippi Professor of Poetry Brenda Hillman, receives high marks of appreciation from Publisher Weekly in its starred review of the new work. Known in the book world as “the bible of the book business,” the weekly news magazine about books offers praise for Hillman’s book, referring to it as an urgent ambulance of art, and bound to move readers to grief, outrage, and wonder. Hillman is the author of ten collections of poetry, including Extra Hidden Life, Among the Days.
A Saint Mary’s literary treasure, Hillman was awarded the California Book Award, the Northern California Book Award, and the Griffin International Prize for Poetry for her previous poetry collection Seasonal Works with Letters on Fire. Her work has received many accolades and honors, including the Los Angeles Times Book Award and the William Carlos Williams Prize for poetry.
Extra Hidden Life, Among the Days will be released next month by Wesleyan University Press.
