Description
The Catholic Voice’s March 5th issue was a tribute to Bishop John Cummins in honor of his 90th birthday. The special edition also included the article “Bishop John has kept before the members the key legacies of the Second Vatican Council,” by Brother Charles Hilken. A professor of history, Hilken wrote about the mission and programming featured through SMC’s Cummins Institute. Established in 2002, the goal of the institute, named after the Emeritus Bishop of Oakland, is to deepen appreciation among all constituents of the campus community for the beauty, wisdom, vitality and diversity of the Catholic Tradition.
