Description
KCBS spoke with Politics Professor Steve Woolpert about an effort by the White House employing a federal ethics stipulation to disqualify former FBI Director Mueller from his role as special counsel in the investigation of ties between President Donald Trump's campaign team and Russia. White House officials are reviewing regulations that limit recently hired government attorneys from investigating their former law firms for a year — Mueller worked for a law firm that represented two key Trump administration members. Among other observations, Woolpert questioned the likelihood of blocking Mueller’s participation, because his previous legal work was not directly for the Trump associates.
