Description
Starting in 2025, California public high schools will be required to offer Ethnic Studies courses. While this mandate may not affect your school, the waves of this movement are likely to impact course content at all grade levels and in all schools in coming years. How can we as library workers support the needs that will come with these exciting changes? In this session, I will talk about my role in piloting an Ethnic Studies course at San Francisco University High School, walk you through a short lesson, and then we will have time to talk about ways that libraries can play a vital role in the work of Ethnic Studies.

Higher Education Commons, Secondary Education Commons, Teacher Education and Professional Development Commons
