Description
Saint Mary’s English Professor Matthew Zapruder discussed his new book Why Poetry with Michael Krasny, host of KQED’s Forum. In the hour-long discussion, Zapruder, a former New York Times Magazine poetry editor, talked about poetry, how students learn it, how it should and should not be taught, and the poems and poets he deeply appreciates. The KQED program also featured Zapruder reading some his poetry, including “April Snow” from his book Come All You Ghosts. Forum, KQED’s popular news and public affairs show presents in-depth interviews with leading figures in politics, science, entertainment, and the arts.
